Unlock our Potential new.png

 A CITY WHERE:

  • We treat each other with love and respect;

  • We work hard, live by moral principles, and give our all to everything we do;

  • We have strong families;

  • We live in safe and affordable neighborhoods;

  • We produce, among others, the finest engineers, teachers, doctors, chefs, musicians, electricians and family members;

  • We care for others, including those who are lonely, disadvantaged and downtrodden;

  • Service and goodness is just the way we are.

Plan - Strong Families.png
  • Make weekly short and engaging “Family Time” lesson outlines available for home use that cover a variety of moral values so that parents can be their children’s best teachers.

  • Make temporal self-reliance and emotional resilience discussion classes more widely available.

  • Partner with CCSD to sponsor and broadcast monthly high school short video competitions on relevant moral and societal issues such as pornography, violence and drug abuse.

  • Partner with CCSD and local media stations to recite and promote daily affirmations such as: “In this city, we work hard. We’re helpful, honest and kind, and we treat others with respect.”

  • Sponsor monthly podcasts with guest speakers to address family needs.

  • Digitally recognize and celebrate achievement, improvement and/or value-based behaviors.

  • Create a “Home Sweet Home” valley-wide task force with key stakeholders and concerned citizens to address our housing concerns. As possible, implement their suggestions.

  • Explore a property tax break for local home buyers for the first two years of home ownership.

  • Develop a strong civic-minded mentality:

    • Education programs presented in grades 2, 5, 8 and 11. These programs will help our young people develop a strong sentiment of public morality and will focus on ethics, values, civic mindedness, and respecting the law.

    • “Family Time” lessons reinforcing the same.

  • Strict laws, strict enforcement, strong penalties. Tough on first offenders. No loopholes. No getting off on technicalities.

  • Visible police presence where officers build relationships with the public.

  • Provide quarterly motivational assemblies with famous figures to all high school and middle school students. Assemblies will be presented live to a small group of students then broadcasted virtually.

  • Mayor’s Honor Roll and Mayor’s Improvement Roll certificates for achievement and improvement.

  • Seek additional ways to celebrate good teachers.

  • Seek to expand the outreach efforts of the Courtyard Homeless Resource Center.

  • Create a “Safe and Secure” valley-wide task force with key stakeholders and concerned citizens to explore ways to help and support at-risk and disadvantaged populations.

  • Sponsor appropriate work programs for those experiencing homelessness and/or severe mental health issues.
